Best Ball is a used golf ball - http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/03_46/b3858616.htm

You want to know why a used golf ball is as good as a new golf ball but better because its cheaper? Read this!! We are not the only ones who think used golf ball is a great golf ball :)

Cheap is good. In fact, lower-price golf balls are not just a whole lot better than they used to be, they may be as good for your game as the priciest of balls. That's because the difference in performance between golf balls that cost $35 or more a dozen and those that retail for $25 or less can be much less than the price tags suggest. Nowadays, lower price is not necessarily an indication of lower performance, especially if you're a golfer of average skill.

Golf.com - Official USGA Handicap Tracker - http://www.golf.com/golf/handicaptracker

You have to pay for this site but you will get your official USGA Handicap card which you can use to enter local tournaments. My dad has been using this system for a few months and has not had any major complaints. I think it costs about $30/year. If you get a new subscription to the magazine you may be able to get this free for 6 months or up to a year.

Stracka.com - http://www.stracka.com/

This is a Golf Social Networking site. I have used it for tracking scores and finding courses. So far the scorecards they have for all the courses I played are accurate and they seem to have a lot of courses in their course finder. I do not believe that this is an official USGA Handicapping system but it does claim that it is compliant with the USGA system.

oobgolf.com - http://www.oobgolf.com/

This is similar to stracka.com. I'm not sure which one is better or which was started first but they both have similar features for registering for free. I have found that when using oobgolf.com to track your scores they have more statistics you can track on your score card. I do not believe that this is an official USGA Handicapping system but it does claim that it is compliant with the USGA system.

A Good Walk Spoiled: Days and Nights on the PGA Tour - John Feinstein

Golf is Not a Game of Perfect - Dr. Bob Rotella

I have not read this yet but a friend highly recommended it. It is a good book for regular golfers like you and I. How to learn to adjust to your swing. How to use what your swing gives you on any given day, its not always the same and some of us feel like we should have a consistent swing like the pros.

GolfTec - http://www.golftec.com/

This is a great place to take lessons if there is one near you. I have been playing golf for about 15 years and just started taking lessons last year with them. The technology they use when you have a lesson in house is a great way to learn. You are able to see your swing compared with a Tour Pro and it makes it easier to see where you need help. They offer club fitting and other services, the lessons indoor and outdoor is all I have used so far. I am consistently shooting in the low to mid 80s. Before I was shooting any where from mid 80s to the 100s. It has brought consistency to my game and makes it a lot more fun.
